2012. A brand new year, has come. The crossover is but the typicaL repetition of 365 days, and reminiscent the events that happened in the previous year.

2011. A year of the past. Nothing more than memories. A LargeLy tedious year with Lots of commitments to work and studies on one hand, sweet moments, too, on the other!

A finaL sprint to the end of another chapter promises a fresh new beginning in the Life of the owner.. a moment that's been a Long time coming. TiL then, enjoy Living Life as it shouLd!

In Love, we trust. In Love, sometimes we hurt. But in Love, we find the invisibLe wings that have been the pivot of support through aLL times.

That is why, I cherish You.. thank you, for being everything that I wasn't. For aLL that you gave, you deserve my dedication to our very future! =)

A Process

They say this is what I have to do, and so here I am, trying to get the books into my head. Eight months have Lapsed since I embarked on further education, but somehow, I stiLL detest the process. Is this what I want to do? Or what I have to do?

As a simpLe man, my Life was happy .. I get to save money, I get to traveL, I get to meet peopLe. Why, in the first pLace, do I change this? If I couLd turn everything back again, I wouLd have stayed. That said, the past one year since the change effected has not been wasted. Good peopLe in the new workpLace, nice cLassmates, a very supportive girLfriend and foLks.

SeriousLy aLL ingredients are in for me to pursue that paper everyone thinks is a necessity as much as I beg to differ. Let me try, but I stiLL yearn for my freedom to roam.

A Lesson

A few days back I had attended cLass for my bacheLor program. Its the fifth week aLready and this semester has gone somewhat pretty swiftLy.

Mr. JAP (John AruL PauL) is our Lecturer for this moduLe, Advanced Human Resource Management. As usuaL, the man, in his sixties, with his common formaL wear and specs, is giving an utmost specific Lesson. He never misses a point or another as he aLways repeats himseLf.

The evening cLass was the usuaL. He covered his topics, and he went through the muLtipLe-choice questions, fLashing them on the projector, going around asking the students for answers. On each question, he had stated at the end of the question where in the textbook the answer couLd be found. It was my turn to answer, and so I read the question, referred to the page and started to Look for the answer, as the whoLe cLass did concurrentLy.

I gave an answer, then he paused Looking at me, and said, "why did you go through the whoLe page when I have aLready given you the answer.." Then, the whoLe cLass reaLised that at the end of the question, after the reference page was a LittLe aLphabet 'a'.

Mr. JAP added, "many a time, we aLL don't see what is right in front of us, and then spend so much effort Looking for it..." His statement might not have been heard by many as cLearLy, but I did.

Sometimes, or most of the time (according to Mr. JAP), we keep working hard for things we beLieve are things that we want, but at the end of the day, the most important things that we reaLLy want, are just right there, yet we do not see it.

This Lesson, is priceLess, at Least, to me.

The Journey

And so we aLways hear, that what matters is not the destination but the journey that brings us to it. WeLL, this can onLy be true.

We are aLL doing what we beLieve is for a better tomorrow .. that paper, cLimbing thae corporate Ladder, saving up for marriage, housing, buiLd a famiLy, retirement and the List goes on. No, we wiLL not know when and where the finaL destination wiLL be, but everyone keeps moving aLong.

Of course, just Like what we study in the marketing cLasses of the Product Life cycLe - Introduction, Growth, Maturity, DecLine .. Life has its own cycLe as weLL - Birth, Age, Sickness, Death. Everything that has a beginning, has an end, though, it might just sound pessimistic to some. However, if you have Learnt to accept reaLity, Life wiLL very much be easier, and probabLy happier.

Our journeys in Life are aLL unique, and very much infLuenced by the existence of every other thing eLse. Anyone that appears in your Life, pLays a roLe in shaping your future, aLthough the impact might not be there to be seen. I am happy, aLL the time, whenever I think of the peopLe around me that answers my hierachy of needs, the most important, being my mother, of whom, as my Life moves on, the roLe wiLL be passed on to that SpeciaL someone.

I cant thank destiny and Cupid more than enough, for shooting the arrow of Love right into me, onto DeL .. She is simpLy one word to describe - unique. ObviousLy, Love is bLind and peopLe in Love choose to onLy see the good things, but isnt that better? We shouLd aLways try to see things in the positive Light, for nothing is perfect.

On the eve of VaLentine's, as I am writing this, my girLfriend is working her sLeeves off since a month ago for this heartLands Chingay event. I hope, everything goes weLL for her and she deserves a good break thereafter.

On another personaL note, gratitude is something which I feLt Lacking in the urban LifestyLe as ours. We are taking the good for granted, and often, onLy focusing on what goes wrong. It shouLdnt be. This cuLture has to change.

As the Chinese ceLebrates Lunar New Year, Let us hope the rabbit year wiLL be bountifuL for aLL. I wish you aLL the best, and as Singapore's very own "Mother Theresa" said at the Chingay which I was present Last night, "Love ALL" .. and Love we shouLd, beginning with the peopLe that matters most.

The End of 2010 - Into the year of the Unknown

As I age, I bLog Less. With time, the emergence of the many sociaL mediums such as Facebook and Twitter, coupLed with the voLatiLity of the current worLd where aLmost everything changes every singLe day, bLogging sure has taken a step back.

The good thing is I have not given it up.. at Least, the commitment of one post per month is certain. The sad thing is, its reaLLy difficuLt to spare time, sit down, reLax and manage my thoughts to put down in this space. SureLy, renown bLoggers can onLy be femaLes as we cannot deny the fact that sex does seLL.

As usuaL, many things have come fast and furious .. I have gone for my knee op which went pretty smooth, but have to keep my fingers crossed that I can get back to soccer once again as no one knows if it wiLL heaL normaLLy.

Back to schooL now for a brand new semester, hopefuLLy time can be better managed now that I am taking onLy two moduLes, and that work can cut me some sLack. Otherwise changes have to come in pLace for a baLance.

Right now though, for myseLf, the new year can be said to be unpredictabLe. But personaL goaLs have been set aside; studies .. voLunteering at the Community CLub .. my reLationship with DeL .. going back to footbaLL .. getting a big fat bonus in JuLy, and hopefuLLy by the end it, I can Look back and say, this has been a pretty good year afteraLL!

Twenty-Fifth of December

This date is not simpLy a date with Santa CLaus and his seven reindeers, but another magicaL ceLebration of one vitaL aspect of Life - L.O.V.E.

UnknowningLy, I have been together with this speciaL girL for seven months aLready. As we aLways put it, the amount of time does not necessary depict the deepness of how two person feeL for each other. SadLy not aLL reLationships end in a fairytaLe .. an oLd friend just ended one of seven years due to infLuence from the externaL environment.

For me though, for as far as we both can, I'm sure we can keep it going strong and sweet.

For the rest of you out there though, have a merry Xmas and may the presents come Loading up and get your Boxing Day busy!

The WaLk

Today. It was drizzLing, a LittLe heavy, but Less than a shower. I had just enjoyed my haircut at the neighbourhood saLoon and went home to take a short bath before I head to find my Love who had to work through the Saturday aLone.

In Life, every singLe day is a Learning process. It has been ages since I Last wrote, and write I must, I toLd myseLf as sharing is itseLf a reference for others. But where do I begin, and how do I end? Sometimes, the writing just didnt happen, and that, in the Last few years, has seen the posts in this bLog dwindLe.

I took a smaLL broLLy, enough to cover two heads and Left home. Home, with three occupants Dad, Mum and sis, has pretty much been the same, except for the eLdest son being away for most of the time due to commitments to work, and studies, and buiLding a speciaL reLationship with a speciaL girL. No doubt the fondness of the famiLiarity is very much no different, at this phrase in Life, I can onLy spend that much time at home.

As I waLked through the rain weLL covered by the broLLy, each step I took against the rippLes that hit the ground, I Looked back through the many, many events that have occured over the past few months. I am gLad to be Living Life to my fuLLest, however, I cannot say the same for achievements .. which are but few.

Of course, I am happy with Life, but there are somewhat stiLL Lots of things to do, to see, and to to heLp make the worLd much better than just improving my own Life. I do not need to hide, or create a positive image here for anyone to see, its just whats from the heart.

When opportunities arise, anybody can make someone eLse's Life much better just by doing a LittLe bit more. For exampLe, giving a doLLar to a hunchback eLderLy seLLing tissue packs, and this couLd mean haLf a meaL to her .. but its just another cup of coffee for you and I.

Let us do what we can, if we want, to heLp peopLe who are not as Lucky. For every bit of good you do, you have definiteLy Left a great impact to the person you have heLped.

For myseLf, in time to come when my "chores" are done, or when the chance comes, I wouLd, give back to the worLd what the worLd has given me.

Breathing Hard

Work and studies, the two activities that take up pretty much of my time apart from spending a good weekend with Love, in and out, Less those that I have to rush projects and assignments.

As time goes by, sometimes I get jaded, other times, I find confidence through good cLassmates and of course, Her.

I'm not sure if I can see studies through, for it sure is starting to take a toLL on my heaLth as I get unweLL easiLy these days, signs of a Low naturaL body resistence against bugs. However, I'm just appreciating the fact that despite the changes that took pLace, many things in my Life are stiLL somewhat intact.

If She decides to stand by me through, I wiLL not Let Her down, and fuLfiL the job a responsibLe man has to do.

Going Easy & Not

ALbeit aLL the good things that are happening and have happened, the writer is somewhat stiLL not convinced that whatever he is doing now, might have a major impact on the future of his. They caLL this the mid-20s crisis where changes seem to come constantLy where you never know what happens next.

No doubt he has a pLan, but this pLan seems to be just what everyone eLse around is doing .. to get the paper and grab a higher pay job, which sounds Like what Tom, Dick and Harry are aLL working on. But no, Jon does not want to foLLow the norm, even though it sounds stupid. One Life is aLL you have got, and you just have to do something you reaLLy Love doing, or that shouLd not be caLLed Life.

If the current environment is going to change the way he Lives Life, probabLy, he wiLL just forgo everything and chase something he aLways thought was fuLfiLing .. one, to answer the needs of the needy and two, seek to understand the true meaning of seLf-actuaLisation.

On the other hand, he has been reaLLy gratefuL that somehow, in this Life, he found true Love. And for that Love of his, he wiLL decide his Life properLy and do his best to not Let her down.

The future can be said to be uncertain even as we pLan for it, there is LittLe doubt about that. But that doesnt mean we shouLd stop here, or simpLy foLLow the norm. Think it through, and decide how best your Life shouLd be Lived and Leave no regrets.

A Minute

Its been a whiLe since I sat down and pen down my thoughts for the past few weeks, or months rather.

With about four hours to go before I pLay brother to Kenneth's Big Day, I suppose I wouLd just spend a minute on a bLog that is pretty much forgotten.

Embarking on part time studies since September came into the frame is something that has changed the way I Live my Life, and in turn affected the peopLe around me as a resuLt. I am stiLL very thankfuL that I have an understanding partner who choose to aLways stand by me, despite myseLf occassionaLLy being negative about how the way some things have gone.

PeopLe say that we onLy know what we have got untiL its gone, but I beg to differ. I do treasure and appreciate every LittLe thing that my Love has done every singLe day, despite Her being LabeLLed by me as a "hopeLess un-romantic", She is aLL I ever wanted.

I wish, and hope that everything can go as good as they are, smooth and head for the much better.

Change

These months, Life has been wonderfuL thus far; I have found a stabLe job, am in a happy reLationship, my famiLy are supportive of whatever choices I made and I get to catch up with the peeps once a whiLe at their matches now that I am not abLe to pLay.

But come September, there wiLL be a sLight addition to my LifestyLe - studies.

It wouLd LiteraLLy change the way I manage my time now and deep down, I do hope that despite that being priority, the more important things in my Life are here to stay.

As a Laid back simpLeton, I seriousLy hate changes, but for the better, we need to adjust and adapt.

Things can onLy be good, and better.

When Times Change

I remembered myseLf as one who Loved reading fiction so much that every book I read, I got fascinated and start to write a Lot as weLL. No doubt, reading had given me a creative fLair that I somewhat seem to have Lost, with time.

As the enthusiastic reader ages and get busier, with Less time, he has since stopped reading books. Writing is now reduced Like an endangered specie on the brink of extinction.

That shouLd not happen, for reading is a joy, and gives one much pLeasure and at times, bring him to a worLd of fantasy, away from the crueLty of reaLity.

Maybe, he shouLd just start hoLding a book once again.

A Touch of Humanity

As I entered the train on a typicaL Monday morning, aLL set to go to work, I stood amongst aLL others who were Like me, boarding the same train, traveLing to the same office every singLe week day.

On this day though, there was something different that I observed. I saw a seated man communicating with a standing Lady .. in hand signs.

As I observed Longer, it seemed that seated beside the man is his wife, and their chiLd of about five years. And this man, is communicating with a stranger who was deaf, Like him. I got more interested and kept observing. If my very own transLation was nothing short of accurate, the man is describing about how his wife has been abLe to communicate with him, via some LittLe hand signs, and to read his faciaL expressions. The man then aLighted with the chiLd, as the two Ladies bade them goodbye.

My attention was then turned to the other woman, the man's spouse. I took onLy five seconds, and aLL I couLd give her for a first impression, was that she must have been a great woman. It cannot be easy to understand without words, to communicate without speech and to give support just being by the side of the other haLf she chose, but she did aLL these.

Somehow, mereLy in a matter of seconds, this woman has aLready gathered the very respect that I have for a unique Love as such.

This Love is utmost extraordinary worth envying.

NevertheLess, I myseLf have experienced the good feeLing of Love too. Not as remarkabLe, yet simpLe and sweet in the good company of onLy Her.

A LittLe Dreamy, A LittLe Bumpy

Workwise has not been anywhere as satisfactory. No doubt it is a good change, but somehow, the job scope is by far a LittLe unsuitabLe for a big man Like me.

On the other hand, my reLationship with DeL has been great and its astonishing just how fast one month has gone. We spent Loads of time getting to know about one another, having heLL Lots of fun, Laughing and being happy, and so far, aLL I can say is I am stiLL pretty much amazed.

Daddy's Day

Twenty-six years back when I was born, I have neither cLue nor idea how a good father shouLd be Like, for it had aLways been Mom who was there. Not untiL she remarried 12 years Later that I reaLised .. the key to being a great father is one BIG word to bear - responsibiLity.

It takes more than a great man to accept a woman aLong with three kids, but he was that. And up untiL this day, despite few words between us throughout the years, my respect for him has never dwindLed.

A good dinner with the whoLe famiLy and partners on Father's Day, nothing wouLd have been more perfect than a simpLe reunion with the company of our Love.

I do not know the Love of a father to a son, but having spent most of my chiLdhood without, I know exactLy what a chiLd needs of a father. And for that, in time to come, I beLieve my chiLdren shouLd be Lucky enough to find a super dad in me. SmiLes!

Kicking the Habit

Biting finger naiLs is as addictive as smoking. You do not crave for it, but somehow, if you do not bite them, you feeL uneasy. This has been a chiLdhood habit and for years now.

Therefore, the best effective way to prevent human beings from doing the unwanted, is via ... FINES.

Since about a week ago, my Lady has roLLed out the system and so far, the resuLts have been pretty positive - she is Looking at a net income of $16 from fines as of yesterday. And the onLy way I can stop seeing my bucks go down, is to kick the habit out of my Life.

It was a success on 18 June 2010. Not a doLLar was added to the totaL fines.

.. and then when I reach home, I bit aLL I couLd.

Chain Effect

Every decision that one makes, wiLL affect another's Life in one way or another.

In my Life, I have made severaL choices that have mouLded some to where they are now, and aLso caused some to be what they are. On the other hand, there are peopLe who made a big difference to my Life as weLL, be it good or bad.

I wouLd not say that for the bad that happened, bLame shouLd be Laid on those who effected them, but somehow Life is a Learning process and I can onLy thank them for heLping me deveLop into a man as I am today.

ALL in aLL, as I Look back and see the present, even though I am nobody, I stiLL wake up every day being thankfuL for aLL that I have - peopLe that cares and that I care about.

That, to me, is more than enough to make me contented and happy.

sunset in Krabi, 4 May 2010, on eve of birthday.

The month of May, Like aLL other months, is unique in its very own way. For me, this is a month where joyous occasions are ceLebrated - InternationaL Workers' Day, Mothers' Day, my birthday .. just to name a few.

This year in 2010 though, nothing couLd have been extra speciaL with a job switch to happen in the middLe of the month. With a soLo traveL in pLace from the 2nd tiL the 6th to Krabi, ThaiLand, I guess this must have been the best so far, despite having onLy 12 days passed.

On top of these, I happened to have more Luck in footbaLL too! Scored one goaL over the weekend for Premier FootbaLL cLub, scored another for my constituency team just today. With age, goaLs usuaLLy don't come often for me seriousLy .. sometimes it takes quite some months for one to come!

In enjoying my Leave for the past two weeks, there are things in the office where I am stiLL pretty much attached to. WeLL, I can choose to not give a heck about everything, but then, it wiLL definiteLy be reaLLy disastrous for the newbies Like DeLphina and AppLe. I think DeLphina shouLd reaLLy be gratefuL I chose to be a Samaritan, but no, I do not seek returns. Just that these two, Like previous interns and temps, inspires me to guide them towards the right direction as I am a firm beLiever that fundamentaLs are cruciaL in deveLoping a good staff in any organisation.

Its just days before I embark on my new job. Having met my new coLLeagues when dropping by my new workpLace to famiLiarise with the job, I beLieve I wiLL be exposed to many new Learning points. No doubt I couLd have taken the easy way out by staying put at PeopLe's Association, but how wouLd I have seen the worLd without moving on?

Tomorrow is an unknown patch. Where we have the present which is now, we shouLd aLways savour the moment. And I am darn gLad for the unusuaL things I have chosen to do, for that brings me the unexpected happenings, mostLy for the good!

A Ferris WheeL Ride

You get enthusiastic upon seeing the grand, enormous wheeL. Upon entry, emotions run high as the adrenaLine rushes through your bLood. Reaching the very top, yet another tinge of excitement gets into you. And then, sLowLy, aLL emotions fade away as the wheeL descends .. untiL it comes to the point where you first embarked on. At the end of it, you Look back, and bring away an experience of going through aLL the stages of the WheeL itseLf.

Life is Like such ... but more Like a roLLer coaster. Except that at some phrases though, you might encounter something Like a Ferris WheeL experience - smooth, steady and quite predictabLe.

For myseLf, I think that my experience for the past two years is somewhat simiLar. But then, I think I have yet to descend and jumped straight out of it!

Come to think of it, whiLst I am stiLL dangLing at the peak of the WheeL, I wiLL enjoy aLL I can before jumping out of it .. in three weeks.

Things

As days go by, things evoLve. Some for the better, some not exactLy the same story.

With the imminent departure of my buddy-coLLeague Sean, I can onLy foresee that my time in the current office wiLL not become any better.

It couLd be time for a new chaLLenge, to run away and not risk the chance of being bombarded with more work which wiLL increase the chances of being Less efficient.

I do not want to Look bad, because I beLieve in quaLity. With more workLoad, and taking quaLity into consideration, many things are bound to be sLower than usuaL. With the expectation LeveL of myseLf being pretty high aLready, peopLe wiLL onLy feeL that I am not giving the same, which wiLL definiteLy end up being unjustified to me.

WeLL, fingers crossed, if a better offer is in pLace, I shaLL bid goodbye to a job I Love and hate dear.

Emptiness

To be immersed straight back to work after touching down from a great hoLiday affair is one thing that shouLd not be happening.

ALthough there can be no jetLag from Hong Kong via Singapore, the sudden switch of a reLaxed mood to a fast-paced LifestyLe once again gives me pretty much a Lousy evening in the office.

Having said that, it wouLd have been a dream come true if there can be a job that gives me the ticket to set foot on more Lands. However, there is by far few, and for myseLf, aLmost cLose to none.

Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word

It was a pretty rush day for myseLf as there were many deadLines, so much so I Left the office onLy at midnight.

The day couLd not have been worst if not for an incident which happened in City Square MaLL.

It was aLready 5-ish and I had to submit some purchase order form by 6p.m as our finance cLoses their account for the financiaL year.

And so I waLked through City Square MaLL basement via the North East mass rapit transit. There right in front of me were the escaLators going up to the exit of the maLL. As I approached at the escaLator, this coupLe popped up casuaLLy Looking upwards and stroLLing, cutting my path between me and the escaLator without noticing me.

I stopped ... and aLLowed this coupLe to pass, but kena stepped by the 'gentLeman' who apparentLy reaLised that he was in the way.

Expecting an apoLogy, I Looked at him. SurprisingLy, he gazed at me and waLked past as if nothing happened in siLence. What the fuck man! If you stepped on someone, you apoLogise. Its that simpLe.

I kept staring at him as he went the other way of the escaLator, he was stiLL gazing at me Like nothing freaking happened! As I moved up and he moved down, I finaLLy gave him the uLtimate "what the fuck" gesture, shook my head and moved on. There was not a singLe word said between us.

It stiLL baffLes me the kind of etiquette that Singaporeans have cuLtivated throughout the years .. as we can see, sure has changed .. but definiteLy not for the better.

We need to be more gracious, more humane and better respected.

Fucking stepped on my three weeks oLd Pedro Loafers. To heLL, moron! (excuse me, pLease)

The Pride of Asia

Everytime I watch China's mass ceLebrations on teLevision, I am absoLuteLy impressed by the efforts of each and everyone of the performers be it the singer, actor, or even a dancer with a smaLL roLe. They take great pride just being on stage, or more so being a Chinese.

You can feeL that China, being Asia's powerhouse, are so proud of their achievements that they wiLL aLways mention it even during their performances.

That makes Singaporean-Chinese Like me, feeL reaL good. And often, it is a wonder if other Chinese immigrants stiLL remember where their roots Lay wherever they are. More often, they don't, and it is a pity.

The Movie Affair

Few days back, I caught Armoured. It was so-so.

Yesterday, I caught The WoLfman. It was ok.

This morning, I caught The Royal Tenenbaums at home. And I reaLised that sometimes, the best things are actuaLLy nearer to you than you think they are.

This Light-hearted comedy gives one the Laughter they seek, and with some twists and turns of each and every character of the Tenenbaum famiLy, it makes the viewer Look forward to what happens next. ReaL cooL, with a few pieces of creative inputs to the pLot, it was no wonder the 2001 fiLm was nominated for the Academy Award.

Ginger, as good as oLd

I attended a wedding dinner on Saturday evening. The bride was my cousin on my Dad's side but we were never cLose as I grew up mainLy with the cousins on my Mom's end.

It was heLd at the SwisshoteL @ RaffLes City, quite a grand baLLroom, yet a simpLe dinner and formaLity. There were toastings, catch-ups between reLatives and friends, the joyous moments of the coupLe and their reLatives and the common things you wiLL see at a typicaL Singaporean wedding dinner. The event was what we put it as, cLassicaLLy simpLe.

The onLy moment I got out of the evening, was towards the end of the dinner when my grandmother, in her 80s aLready, hoLding hands tight with the granny of the groom's famiLy. I can onLy perceive being in her shoes.

Looking in my grandma's eyes, I see no fear, no emotions. With her grey, siLky but thinning hair, one couLd but wonder what exactLy an eLderLy being is thinking about. I did not ask her though, for my cantonese is not even cLose to basics.

Somehow I thought though, that if I were to reach my 80s and the most of the important peopLe have aLready Left, in this worLd, there are nothing more for me to hoLd onto.

The art of Letting go, can onLy be truLy understood with experience.

Born to be WiLd

Men are aLways at their utmost best when it comes to sociaLising .. with the opposite sex. In Hokkien terms, it is known as "chee-hong".

The LeveL of enthusiasm, though, varies amongst different types of guys, and the cLassification of the opposite sex.

Yesterday, a Friday evening, I went away to the far west to ceLebrate the birthday bash of Cong. Upon arriving, there I saw various groups of girLs, and of course, my very own footbaLL 'kakis'.

I took the next five minutes observing the groups, and was surprised to find four Japanese teens that Randy brought to join us in the party. They are here on a home exchange program and my good friend was a part-time tour guide. At the other side of the barbeque area contained Cong's schooL mates. As the evening went by, you reaLised the attention were more on the Japanese .. but mainLy on the girLs.

I don't know, somehow, Japanese girLs are aLways that attractive to most. Either that, or just because they are foreigners. When I was in Vietnam a month ago, I got the same 'speciaL' treatment from the LocaLs.

But then, you know men best when you are a man yourseLf. And yes, we are born to be 'chee-hong' ... and its in the bLood.

A wonderfuL day to remember for one of the greatest men in the chapters of my Life, the Lads did up a surprise birthday ceLebration for WiLLiam on Sunday.

WiLLiam is no stranger to the worLd of amateur footbaLL, and since the day he stepped into the team aLmost a decade ago, he has been the primary factor in how the team has deveLoped and progressed.

In fact, there are no more than five peopLe in Life that I Listen very much to, and he is one of them.

I am appreciative of how much support and direction he has given to me throughout my footbaLLing Life, and occasionaLLy personaL Life. He sure deserves the respect of everyone associated with Greats FootbaLL CLub for aLL the passion and effort put in to bring us to where we are today.

ESPZEN Amateur League Division One, a pLace where out of 100-odd teams yearn to be in, and WiLLiam has done it for Greats. And now, we owe him a pLace in history which is to win the championship.

The Crossover

It has been aLmost four days since my return from the hoLiday trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. However, I am stiLL trying to drag myseLf back into the reaLity of a Singaporean Life.

Like many others, this trip sure has given me Lots of good memories, and to be abLe to meet and communicate with the LocaLs are definiteLy most interesting.

Looking back at the time when we crossed the borders to Vietnam, there I was thinking how much I wiLL miss Cambodia. LittLe do I reaLise that Ho Chi Minh has given me more reasons to keep it at the back of my mind for a very Long time to come.

From the roadside hawker to the tour agency Lady, from the souvenir saLes girLs to the masseuse, each and everyone has been reaLLy great towards us as foreigners. To them, Life goes on after us, but for us, a part of each of them are Left with us.

The aromatic Vietnamese coffee and the deLicious Pho beef noodLes are some things that my tongue stiLL yearns to taste. In the past, my dream to traveL every country once is supposed to gonna be more than enough, but for Vietnam, I feeL that I have not seen enough and therefore, its gonna be an exception that I wiLL definiteLy be going back again every once a whiLe.

Boheng, a seasoned traveLer to Vietnam and our friend, toLd me before that Viet peopLe are aLL very friendLy and warm and simpLe.

With the concLusion of the trip, I must totaLLy agree.

The Big Divide

Having spent the Last four days of this trip in Cambodia, whiLst my mind is stiLL fresh with what I have seen and that the emotions are stiLL pretty much stiLL Lingering, I suppose I wiLL just jot down some of the amazing stuff I have seen, if I can.

They caLL Cambodia the Land of Wonders, and it sure Lives to its name. From the minute I Landed in Siem Reap untiL the moment I crossed the border from Phnom Penh into Vietnam, nothing has faiLed to impress me.

The ancient tempLes at Angkor Wat, with its rich history preserved, brings one back in time, yet coming back to reaLity, you see that tourism has, in fact, been the main cuLprit in the acceLeration of ruining the remains of these wonderfuL man-made structures.

Tourism has no doubt been the primary source of income for many of the businesses in Cambodia, however, through it, many Cambodian peopLe have been infLuenced by the money-factor so much so that even the purest of a young chiLd's mind has been poLLuted to the fact that money is the reason they Live for.

There are chiLdren every you go in the tempLe ruins wanting to seLL souvenirs and books at obscene prices, and they sure have a way in how they speak. Two-year oLd, five and oLder ones .. its amazing how many Languages they have Learnt to communicate with the many nationaLities that visits their homeLand. We sure have met quite a number of chiLdren with very good command of EngLish, and other Languages incLuding Mandarin, Japanese and even Spanish.

On our finaL day in Siem Reap, waking up at the wee hours of four o'cLock to cycLe aLL the way from our hoteL to the tempLe ruins to catch the beautifuL sunrise, is to be the best decision we have made as we cycLed in totaL darkness aLong the roads, onLy to be Led occasionaLLy by passing vehicLes. ALong the way, staring at the vast sky fuLL of shining stars made the experience unforgetabLe.

At 5-ish, we got to our destination, I forgot the name of the ancient King's private swimming pooL which is an enormous reservoir and there we caught our sunrise in the greatest possibLe way we couLd. And there, we had fun with the chiLdren seLLing hot coffee and souvenirs. No, we did not buy any, but the few of them sure had given us Lots of fun there. And the chiLdren themseLves are as happy as they can be despite the poor saLes.

This is one sunrise I wiLL never forget.

TaLking about Cambodian chiLdren, one thing that I have been pretty much curious is that chiLdren have no say about what they want to do. If a chiLd is born a farmer's son, he wiLL be a farmer, and if a chiLd is born a fruit seLLer's daughter, she wiLL be assisting in the famiLy business. But is this what they want to do? Or is it what they have to do ..

Coming back in time to the present, it is New Year's Eve in Ho Chi Minh, whiLe I am to Log off soon inside this internet cafe, the note is to be continued as and when I can ...

Late Night Drama

I am now fucking awake having been invoLved in a "get-the-car-back" incident.

Just an hour ago, my Dad woke us aLL up as our famiLy car went missing in the middLe of the night. The key was nowhere to be seen. Since aLL members of the famiLy are in except for one, there can onLy be one cuLprit - my younger brother.

Being the usuaL bLack sheep of the famiLy, this was just one of the stunts he had performed throughout the years. And we aLmost got the poLice invoLved this time.

After being abLe to contact him and his good friend with persistent caLLs and having sent sms-es that probabLy scared the shit of them, we managed to meet up at nearby. As I expected, there was damage to the front bumper, the driver was the friend, they drank, and they are not Licensed.

Infringements of three traffic ruLes (unathorised driving of car, drink-driving, driving without License) and two house ruLes (unauthorised driving for outsiders, freaking inconvenience caused). What the fuck are these bastards thinking?

The friend has been toLd off by me, and has agreed to pay for the damages. I rejected the apoLogies and Lame excuse though. The bLack sheep, as he is, shaLL sLeep in the Living room tonight.

And for me .. I shouLdnt even be awake. After so many years of discipLine and guidance, sometimes a Leopard can never change its spots.

I give up.

The immediate question now is how I shouLd turn in with high bLood? Maybe some games wiLL heLp. Off for some CaLL of Duty onLine to kiLL some anger .. out.

To See

I bumped into Larry, one of my grassroots Leaders, at the coffeeshop yesterday. As he was to be fLying off that evening with his famiLy, we had a smaLL taLk and he shared about the goodness of home stays in Europe.

Great food, exceLLent hospitaLity are just two of the many Larry had been impressed in his Last visit at London.

His memorabLe experience couLd very much aLLow myseLf to visuaLise my traveLing pLans for 2010. CoupLed with the introduction of this pLace on TV right now, I wouLd most probabLy be gearing up for an exciting trip to ... New ZeaLand!

I can't wait to carry that out, but before that, my Cambodia-Vietnam trip wouLd be happening in a week.

If I Have A Choice

I wouLd run away from everything, find that LittLe isLand with beaches and waters so cLear, they make you think of nothing more than the present.

WhiLe on our way home on Cong's Lorry, with Derek, Yongren and myseLf at the rear, I appreciate Yongren asking me how my Life is going, what I am doing week in and out.

I thought, and answered, work, footbaLL, work, footbaLL. And then he asked, is it time for us to move to the next phrase of our Lives? ObviousLy, it can onLy be ... dating.

WeLL, I agree. But, in contrast with Derek and Yongren, with a working environment and LifestyLe such as mine, the chances of meeting potentiaL partners are cLose to zero.

JingLe ALL The Way

Despite a surprisingLy tougher time at work (its the season greetings), I shouLd have easiLy succumbed to severe fatigue, but no, that din happen.

I thought about it, and try to find the reasons for that. And I concLuded the foLLowing:

1. A positive mindset is aLL one need to stay on top.

2. Hanging around with the younger peeps keeps one refreshed!

3. Listening to the X'mas songs at supermarts and shopping maLLs make one feeL good.

I can sense it nearing, and coming.

... Santa CLaus sure is coming to town.

TaLking about No. 2, workpLace sees new additions with a young gaL, Shuxuan, and another guy, Jiahao, both of whom are waiting for their O' LeveLs. And I thought my sis at home was the nearest I can get to bridge the generation gap. Here comes two 17 yos to make my December an enjoyabLe one at work!

The Innocent AccompLice

It was a quiet day in the Community CLub with few patrons due to the bad weather. The rain made the afternoon reaLLy peacefuL, which is pretty rare nowadays with the introduction of a new membership card that sent the masses rushing to sign up .. just for a free bag that comes with it.

As I was sitting at the counter doing other work, two young girLs in uniform entered. They Looked to be in their earLy teens.

"Excuse me, is there any teLephone nearby?" asked one of them.

I repLied, "The nearest one wiLL be at the coffeeshop few bLocks away."

Being the usuaL 'nice' me, in addition that the girLs are so cute, LovabLe and poLite, I offered them my office phone to use as she wanted to caLL her mother.

She caLLed, and I continued with my work.

"HeLLo Mummy ah ... its raining heavy now and I am at Hougang MaLL. I am not abLe to come home yet ..."

I turned to Look at them with my puzzLed and frowning face.

After a whiLe, she hung up and excLaimed happiLy .. "Yes! It (the Lie) worked. Let's go and pLay."

They ran out of the counter without a word of thanks. I sat there pretty baffLed.

Now, I know that kids are no Longer as simpLe and demure as they seem to be despite their uniforms.

A LittLe isLand caLLed TimeLess

Last Thursday, after a good dinner with the two girLs of whom I spent my 2007 Lunar New Year with back in Taiwan, I parted company from them and randomLy waLked to The Cathay.

It was aLready about 10 p.m but there are stiLL a few Last screenings to choose from - The Song of Sparrows, 500 Days of Summer and some other horrow movies. ALL of which I reaLLy do not have any cLue or idea what kind of genre the movies beLong to except for the horror ones which the titLes are pretty straightforward .. Like HaLLoween something and stuff.

With hesitation, I did not catch any movie that evening.

A week Later, on another Thursday, I did a LittLe research on the movies. And there was no doubt The Song of Sparrows wouLd end up my choice as it caught my eye with its synopsis.

I went back to Cathay and caught an afternoon screening. SureLy this Lived up to the awards it has won as a Foreign Language fiLm. I wouLd reaLLy recommend that you guys give it a try even as you may not understand a singLe word the movie speaks (its Iranian).

You wiLL be amazed as I am, with scenes of artistic touch, and as the critics cLaimed, it is 'deepLy humanistic'. One of the rare fiLms with a simpListic sense and one I enjoy a Lot.

Somehow as the worLd progresses with the aid of technoLogy, one wiLL think if it is aLL worthwhiLe to work so hard, forget who you are, Lose the human touch and sLowLy forgo your favourite past-time and simpLe things that can make you happy.

I guess you couLd be Like me, Looking out for an isLand caLLed TimeLess.

Stumped

As aLways days passed and turned to weeks, weeks passed and turned to months. Time sureLy awaits no man.

Many events have come and gone, for me, to have participated in run events Like the SaLomon X-TraiL and Nike Human Race. Have aLso been Lucky enough to bump into a few oLd friends Like Lee Jiahui of whom shares the exact same first and middLe name as me.

I have spoken about the Life that is going at an obscene pace. And it has been reaLLy difficuLt to sit down, spare a few minutes of time for thoughts and pen it here in my very own bLog. However, I guess the changes and evoLution of the worLd sure has been way too fast for anyone to capture any precious moments they may have.

It couLd be just me. But every change brings about joy and disappointment. Changes are aLways for the better in the Long run, but constant changes are not increasing the quaLity of Life.

I think a Lot these days. I think of the past, I think of the present, and I think of the changes that wiLL mouLd the future. It seems to be good, but transition wiLL be difficuLt, for some. NevertheLess, whats more important is that even with changes to the environment, peopLe can remain as they are.

Friday evening. My good friend Yongren wouLd be ceLebrating his 25th birthday that evening at some pLace chiLLing out with some of the Lads.

Being the typicaL me, I do not have much enthusiasm to go, but ended up a Last minute addition to the cLique that night. Had to give some face to him, a great guy Lah.

Somehow one night out foLLowed by another the next day, right after a Saturday spent in the office, totaLLy ListLess. And then we drank and danced our hearts out that evening.

I cannot beLieve I am reaLLy there, and to think peeps Like Guofeng, Gan, Guowei and Robert were unusuaL absentees in the party. No standard (as they aLways Like to put it).

No doubt, it feLt good to Let Loose once a whiLe with paLs and meeting good new peeps, in this case, HazeL, of whom sure was pretty sporting, joining the group of us guys where she onLy knew a coupLe or so.

"I gotta feeLing .. that tonight's gonna be a good night ..."

It had to be, a weekend of sLeepLess nights spent in the company of music and groove.

Farmers

Like many, my Love for writing is diminishing with time. The cuLprit must have most probabLy been work. Either that, or Life has not been any interesting.

Over the Last week incLuding this has been pretty disastrous. Nothing much to be happy about but the compLete opposite. Saturday, pLayed a game, Lost. Sunday pLayed another, Lost. And that evening, LiverpooL Lost. On top of that, a LittLe cyber soccer League game me and the guys are pLaying, I Lost again.

These two weeks, I was simpLy a Loser.

In Losing though, there are stiLL positives that can be taken out. My coLLeague, Richard T. shared with me a story with regards to the corporate worLd.

He said, think of yourseLf as a farmer. How weLL your crops grow doesnt compLeteLy depend on how much effort you put in. But you gotta consider a Lot of factors. A farmer at the desert, no matter how hard he worked, he cannot reap anything. A farmer at the mountains, he couLd just throw in the seeds, do nothing, yet reap resuLts.

Same profession, different outcome.

AngeL-A

A random French movie that caught my attention on teLevision, AngeL-A contains pure simpLicity and cLass added with Light humour.

This fantasy fiLm was projected in bLack and white, giving a totaLLy indifferent feeL of a modern movie. With its scenes set in the beautifuL city of Paris, the Love story of a faLLen angeL and a hopeLess man couLnt have been any more romantic than this.

After this, I guess I got pretty interested in foreign Language internationaL fiLms.

IngLourious Basterds

Note that the above movie is indeed as titLed.

And I wonder if refined peopLe wouLd reaLLy pronounce the Latter when buying tickets, which I did today at the state-of-the-art shopping maLL - ILLuma.

For $8.50 on a Thursday afternoon, it wouLd have been deemed pretty steep as normaLLy other cinemas offer discounts for certain credit cards, but not after I reaLised that the movie is actuaLLy more than two hours Long! Besides the bLoody scenes of brutaLity kiLLings and gun battLes, this movie has added a unique fLavour with its comicaL concept. To top it off, there were scenes where it got draggy, but those scenes provided the viewers with Lots of emotions in their heads, getting them to think what is gonna happen next. NeedLess to say, the fiLm comes with great props and visuaL effects. OveraLL this is good to watch, but not for the faint-hearted.

Took a short dinner at my former favourite HaLaL Thai-Chinese restaurant, Magic Wok aLong City HaLL area and then I embarked on my journey home after a waLk to see the bright Lights of the upcoming racing event to be heLd here in Singapore.

A typicaL Thursday, my off day, gone past Like usuaL. Not bad though when you know you dun have to entertain anyone.

The Frustration

For this match, I had made necessary adjustments to my work, and weekend as weLL as preparing the necessary equipment to ensure that I do not miss much of it.

I took haLf day off in Lieu, and practicaLLy ended work at 1pm, time when the match kicked off. FortunateLy this time round, the venue is Bowen Secondary, my sister's schooL, which is just in the Hougang vicinity.

With much eagerness and excitment, I even brought the bicycLe to my workpLace so that I wiLL take no more than 10 minutes to reach the pitch. As expected, I arrived at the pLace and the match has just kicked off.

In the end, I had onLy fifteen minutes of pLay. So much so for aLL the efforts and expectations of an enjoyabLe footbaLLing affair.

Sometimes, potentiaL can onLy be reaLised with the necessary tooLs to harness, and unLeash it. I am not a star pLayer, but I dun think fifteen minutes is enough for me to change anything from a match, though won by our team.

NevertheLess, respect has to be given to the one who pLans the team, and aLL I can do is but either try harder, or just expect Less.

Being Free

Lawrence msn-ed me earLier. He said he is now jobLess and asked me to introduce him some job.

I toLd him ... he shouLd be thankfuL. At Least, he is a free man.

And he said he is, and thanked God every singLe day.

I dunnoe .. dun think its supposed to begin and end Like that, but it sure happened this way. StrangeLy, communication with friends nowadays are so short, sweet, a LittLe humour but not funny and straight to the point. Not good, not bad either. At Least we dun beat around the bush, not anymore.

When I arrived in the office today, sweating as usuaL, I sat at my workpLace and took a deep breath, Looking at the heaps of paper piLed neatLy the other day to compLete it this week.

CompLete? I gotta be kidding myseLf. If work can be compLeted, you and I ain required in the company. And so, I dug into my work and started my same shit, different day routine.

.. that must be the Monday bLues I suppose. Tomorrow shouLd be better ... SHOULD be. Whats new?

NevertheLess, chiLdren and oLd foLks in the neighbourhood does make my day once a whiLe. I dun hate my job, but Life couLd be better.

So, wats the pLan?

The pLan is, send in a resignation Letter, grab aLL the savings, buy an air ticket to nowhere and dun ever come back. Easy said, what about done Leh? We see how La huh ..

CaLabrian BLue Eyes

Yet another so-caLLed big scaLe event my office has coordinated that went pretty smoothLy with a healthy crowd. At Least, there were no sudden hiccups, without which is normaLLy considered good.

But waking up at 5-ish on a Sunday morning is pretty unusuaL for me .. yup, I enjoy sLeeping through the mornings, seriousLy. On this day, I had to ensure that the goodie bags are in pLace, the LoveLy emcees from the Youth Executive Committee foLLows the programme accordingLy and the LogisticaL side of the Brisk Walk. There was not as much pressure as the Last one at Hougang Stadium, which was sureLy of different scaLe.

So, you see, working in a community cLub is not just pure sitting at the counter. There are stuff behind the scenes which the generaL pubLic dun get to see. And so far, I am stiLL doing fine on the job, at Least for now.

Tracking back to Friday when I attended a course on New Media Awareness where the speaker taLked about the impact of Facebook, Twitter and BLogger on the worLd, it sure is true how much one can tap onto these tooLs to express what they want and what they need, at the same time widen the horizon of not just what we normaLLy see physicaLLy.

Here on Facebook, I happened to meet one new friend from CaLabria, ItaLy. EmanueLa is her name and she has reaLLy beautifuL bLue eyes. Not that I know this pLace beforehand, but now that I do, I am excited by the prospect that this pLace couLd be yet another traveL destination for myseLf.

JuLy 18th is more than just a Saturday. As the titLe had suggested, this was a big day for a good mate in Premier FootbaLL CLub.

It was one of those rare days I wear something presentabLe (yea .. I am normaLLy in office wear and simpLy sports attire for 24/7).

Every wedding brings two peopLe into a new phrase in Life. And it is beLieved that when you coLLect 10 wedding dinner token, you are near to getting married. I wonder how true ..

ALL in aLL, I enjoyed this wedding ocassion. With such good company, pretty women aLL around for the men's eyes, and Lots of Laughter and being part of the Loudest "Yum-Seng" group for the evening, how can one not be happy?

We ended the day with a first-time visit to Marina Barrage. You wouLdnt wanna know that a bunch of 25 year oLd men did jump shots and other siLLy crap in shirt and pants at Marina Barrage, but we sure did.

A NormaL Day Turned Bad

Waking up Late on a good Thursday is what many peopLe yearned for, and I did. It is my off day, and I guess that was pure entitLement.

Spent the afternoon doing up faciaL at Tampines with my Mom, where I dozed off again for the next hour or so, but I reaLLy dun mean disrespect to the beautician. I apoLogised to her once I found my senses.

Then, for the sake of getting cheaper tickets and better seating for the Transformers movie on Friday evening, I traveLed to Ang Mo Kio Hub. I got what I wanted. Everything went cooL this day.

In the evening though, I think the decision to pLay a soccer friendLy game was the mother of aLL mistakes. A cLash with the opponent's eLbow Left my inner chin with a deep gash which needed immediate treatment. Was thus referred to Tan Tock Seng HospitaL by the neighbourhood cLinic as the injury requires stitching.

The HospitaL is much in the news for their speciaLisation in treating the current terror virus H1N1. Many precautionary measures are taken. First I have to wear a mask, register myseLf, and then temperature is taken. Everyone there is with a mask, and a goggLe. That is reaL professionaL!

And so I got to see the doctor, given a 5-10min stitching and off I am on my way home.

So much so for Looking forward to a good Friday of attending another course and an evening of a simpLe dinner and movie with the peeps.

Now, the events wiLL stiLL go on, but .. I cant eat normaL.
.... Shucks.

WhiLe On Course ..

The rambutan tree I pass by for three consecutive days.

Used to be in the uniform during chiLdhood.

FinaLLy there was spare time in the weekday evenings for a waLk-a-shop in town. Bought new Nike futsaL shoes - my first in that brand which I once never beLieved was a good sports brand.

I Love being on course. For one, you meet new peopLe from other departments in this big organisation of mine. This First Aid Course aLLows me to meet Darren Li & ELsie, two of whom we shared every meaL together thoughout the course aLongside my officer coLLeague, MeLissa.

Darren is a typicaL hip kinda guy which you find aLong Orchard, you know, those wearing a tee in sLim jeans and a pair of Loafers with an EngLish eccent. We got aLong pretty weLL as he was aLso a LiverpooL fan!

ELsie on the other hand, is a Lady who reaLLy can maintain her youthfuL appearance despite being a mother of two. I cant imagine someone who is 39 Looking no more than 26. IronicaLLy, her whoLe famiLy is for LiverpooL too!

First Aid is an essentiaL basic skiLL we aLL require, to me at Least. You never know when somebody juz coLLapses on the streets, and are you gonna just stand there and do nothing?

No .. you can do something if you have some basic First Aid knowLedge. Who knows, it may just be the difference between that person's Life and death.

Virgin Visit to Thai Disco

Happy hours @ GoLden MiLe Thai Disco with coLLeagues Sean, JianLiang and Simon for the very first time made it an unforgettabLe experience.

The peopLe are aLL so beautifuL in being naturaLLy happy. The performers aLso take time to extend their gratitude to customers who buy them garLands. JianLiang for a very good exampLe, spent over 40 bucks on garLands for a gorgeous singer who came and had a LittLe chat with us.

Not bad .. but not worth it. However it couLd be the first of many visits as I thoroughLy enjoyed myseLf.

Caught this movie with QJ, SW & JQ @ Ang Mo Kio Hub on a Thursday evening.

The show has been wideLy marketed and with two internationaL renown stars, no more can be said about the roLes the duo pLays.

SeLdom we see the viLLain taking centre roLe, but John TravoLta, with his vast taLent on showcase, took it Like no other. I suppose the script was weLL written .. at Least it is to me.

This reminds me of an incident days back when the Lads heLped out to catch a coupLe of youngsters accused of running away with a cabbie's cashcard and free-riding.

No I wasnt there but I passed by the crime scene and saw these two MaLay boys surrounded by a few angry chinese middLe-aged men. The boys Looked tired ...

Upon reaching the basketbaLL court for the Tuesday soccer session, the Lads were narrating about the whoLe incident and taLking about the good peopLe invoLved. However in my mind I thought of the youngsters, in this case, as the viLLains.

Indeed they may have done wrong, but for every wrong peopLe do, there is aLways a reason behind it. Sometimes we shouLd just show more attention to peopLe in difficuLties to prevent the worst from happening.

In any case, everybody deserves a second chance. But I do not beLieve in a third as it simpLy shows that a Leopard cannot change its spots.

1. You are recycLing waste paper to print out emaiLs and then you see your coLLeague printing Loads of emaiLs on pure white paper.

2. You waLk with thrash in your hand waiting to bump into a nearest bin and then you see some innocuous passerby dropping a piece of tissue out of nowhere onto the perfectLy-cLean Landscape which is tainted with a bit of white now.

3. You sweat sitting in the office with air-con temperature at 22 degrees ceLsius (no Lower as the company is pro-environmentaL).

4. You sweat hard waLking 100 metres to the nearby shopping maLL for a meaL.

5. You see your pocket burnt .. for no reason and push the bLame on the sun.

On the other hand, you reaLised that the earth can be saved when ...

1. You watch Captain PLanet (the cartoon) on teLevision.

B for Bangkok, M for Moments

And so the trip ended in a fLash, though it was four fuLL days of extraordinary happenings.

I do not have to introduce you any of the hotspots, you guys wouLd have been there done that. But do Let me share with you some of the series of unexpected happenings that came aLong.

1. First and foremost, untiL at the airport did I reaLise that we are going in a group of 9. I did not know that Susy (of whom I onLy knew at the trip) was going.

2. If you think that the first wasnt any big deaL, yes, you are right. It wasnt any big deaL.

3. However, the main gize came when we met Susy's uncLe (staying in ThaiLand) and her brother (from Hongkong), together with her brother's friend (aLso from Hongkong).

4. Thus, that makes a surprise package of 12.

5. Susy's uncLe engaged in a kinky HeLLo Kitty decorated van, which amazed the grown-up girLs and reduced them to excited chiLdren.

6. Throughout the whoLe trip, Susy became our transLator, coordinator, advisor, and manager. You see, she is the onLy one who can communicate in Thai, Cantonese, Chinese and EngLish. Yes, meet Wonder Woman. Fascinating, ain it?

7. For your info, I brought aLong my Latest acquisition, Canon G10. And heLL no, I did not bring my charger. The camera Lasted me for Day 1. Thats it.

StiLL, I managed to capture 50-odd good pictures on this camera.

8. Karin somehow Lost her enveLope of bahts totaLLing more than 250SGD. This is wat happens when women get so concentrated in shopping than their beLongings.

9. We cLubbed at Route 66 on Day 1 .. the rain came, heavy. And sure it was heavy, the whoLe street was fLooded ankLe high. InitiaLLy, we tried to avoid getting wet, but ended up starting a rain war when one pushes another into the "pooL", and a chain reaction got on the way with everyone kicking and spLashing in the rain. And so, on the very first day, I Lost the usage of my shoes and camera for the remaining of the trip.

10. Nothing much about Day 2, except the unforgettabLe "Tiger Show (or Thai GirL as some caLL it)". So random to bump into former PoLy-mate in KeLLy, who I got to know from Students' Union back then. They joined our group for the show, which was agreed with this Man at 100 baht, incLusive of drink and show.

11. So we went up, saw some girLs (girLs?) on the tabLe doing a coupLe stunts with their *beep*. Mind you, they can be reaLLy good wrestLers if they decide to switch trade.

12. We were aLL totaLLy turned off, and I decided to gather them to find a better show. Just then, the Woman stood beside me, showed me a biLL and said "100 baht drink, 200 baht watch show .. pay 300 baht."

13. For once I thought the Woman made a mistake. So I taLked to her niceLy about our negotiation with the Man (earLier). She started yeLLing and never stop staring hard into my eyes. SeriousLy, she must have thought I was a boy and I wouLd have peed inside my pants. But heLL no. In anyways, we reaLised that there wasnt any point in arguing as the whoLe pLace was owned by mafias. So 1 = 300 baht .. 13 x 300 baht = (go do your math).

14. We Left safeLy after paying. But cursed and swear. Another Lady approached and asked "Wanna watch Tiger Show?"

I repLied "Yes we've watched, very nice. Thank you very much .."

300 baht, for an experience and Lesson we wiLL not forget. It sure is a ring at Partpong. SadLy tarnishing the warm image I have of ThaiLand.

15. If Day 2's event seem shiatty, you haven heard of Day 3.

Day 3 was Pattaya Day. We aLLocated it pureLy to this pLace where we expected a beautifuL beach with Loads of water sports and stuff.

We pLayed water-ski, Sunwei tried the para-fLying thingy. And the freaking banana boat ride which absoLuteLy was out to kiLL us aLL. Keep ramming us into the water with sharp turns. WeLL that was reaL shacking to cLimb up the banana boat again and again and again.

However, here comes Bangkok Con stories Part 2.

K.X's ski boat got scratched (and I reaLLy mean, scratched) after getting hit by Karin's. They ended up asking for compensation of 12,000 baht. It wouLd have been equivaLent to about SGD500. Susy's uncLe tried to negotiate for us and we ended up settLing for 7,000 baht.

It was quoted that to repair the ski boat wiLL mean Loss of business. I say its Load of buLLshit.

16. So far, pretty "entertaining" ain it seem?

17. I guess our trip Looks pretty screwed, but that doesnt dampen our moods. We had a strong company of good friends and everyone can be pissed for just one moment but it simpLy disappears in no time.

18. On the finaL day, we had a Tuk-tuk ride, with destination to be Chinatown. MyseLf, MeL, Sunwei and Hong were reaL Lucky enough to ride on one of the most enthusiastic Toot-toot drivers of aLL time.

I did not get his name. But he, represents the good of ThaiLand. ALong the road, he introduces his wife, his chiLdren and shows us his photo aLbum. He points to us the various significant monuments and expLains to us that he wiLL be bringing us to a tourist shop where he can get free coupons for his gas and exchange for DVD pLayer. He was open aLL the whiLe when we were on the Toot-toot.

19. So you see, from a Tuk-tuk driver, I Learn what simpLicity and contentment is. And how easy it is to be happy. Like peopLe aLways say, you dun need to have the best of everything, but you just need to make the best of everything you have.

How true.

20. So my friends, I must say Bangkok is reaLLy fuLL of twists and turns.

21. Nothing much about Chinatown other than a freaking 60 over dishes of Dim-sum we had. Dirt cheap and damn Lots. Eat tiL drop.

22. And so my short story of Bangkok ends at this point.

Pure shopping? Think again, see beyond and experience whatever you have not. Money can never buy such moments.

As normaL, we had our supper at the coffeeshop. WiLLiam ordered an additionaL NoodLe Soup just for me on my speciaL day. (But I have aLready eaten one fuLL pLate of fried rice)
